5am next monday morning 16/01/06, I will be sitting in a plane headed for my first overseas trip!!
I'm going on a missions trip to the island of Samar in the Phillipines with my Young Adults bible study group for 2 weeks!!
We're gonna be helping out a missionary couple doing things like High School & Early Child Care ministry, Prison Ministry (Eek!), Open air Ministry, A Church Service, Helping build a church .. the list goes on .. plus thats all I can think off the top of my head!
Its gonna be a REAL eye opener I think for myself as this is my first overseas trip and also the part of the philippines were going to I think is classed as a second world country!
bit of an adventure as well .. sounds weird but us guys are sleeping in a shipping container which has an airconditioner that doesnt work and apparently frequently has lizards and snakes in it!! Meanwhile the girls get to stay at some motel !!! (How is it the girls always get the good stuff!)
I'm going to be in a team that focusses on high school ministry where were gonna be doing music, I'm gonna have to give my testimony a few times, magic tricks and also do a 10min sermon thingy.
For all you who are christians, I ask that you pray for myself, the rest of the team going over there, the people we are staying with and also the people of the philippines, that god will do great things. Leading up to this trip there has been a HEAP of Spiritual Warefare going on, which kinda excites me, there's obviously gonna be some big things happening!
Please think of me and my team whilst we are over there! and I promise I'll try to put some photos and stuff up here! If i dont respond to your comments/messages for a while you'll know the reason why!
