Sooo.... I'm posting this blog by sending an email to my blogger! pretty crazy hey!
At church last week one of the pastors highlighted that Ash Wednesday is coming up and is the first day of Lent in the lead up to Easter.
He encouraged us to take up the challenge of thinking/praying about something to give up/fast during the 30 (I think its 30) days of Lent.
So I'm thinking I may give it a go this year, just trying to think what I should do without in the lead up to easter. Suggestions?
For those of you (including myself) who don't really know much about it, heres a "trusty" link to the wikipedia page about Lent.
Now considering its like 2am, I should probably try to get some sleep!
Peace in the East

I read something from Christian Aid that encouraged you rather than give anything up to think about your actions and give money to charity.
So for instance
For every non fair trade tea, chocolate, or coffee product you have had today donate 10p per product to charity (I really don't eat fair trade stuff).
For every hour you've spent watching tv, thing about a child in Africa who has spent the same amount of time working really hard on the farm, 20p an hour for every hour of tv watched to a charity.
Good way of fundraising and will start making you think about yoru actions a bit more.
I'm probably not gona do that though, I thought I could just give up £1.00 a day and then donate £40.00 to charity, which is somehting I am considering.
I've given up chrisps in the past and I've also give up chocolate. I've been tempted to give up meat but I've for lent but I've not done that yet.
Just a few thoughts, to be honest, I think your motives have to be right - not religious or tradition but do it with a willing heart.
Loz

New blog up now! :)
