Why I am here

So I would like to express my sincerest apologies for not keeping you updated on my new Adventures with IC, I have no excuse other than I am doing crazy hours, I get home completely exhausted and I spose a mixture of laziness!

I'm going to write another blog in a few minutes, but I just thought I'd post a copy of an answer to one of my pre-arrival assignments. I was asked the question 'Why am I here?' with the requirement of keeping it under 300 words (I went slightly over!), here is my response:

________________________________________________________

--WHY I AM HERE--

I am here because four or five years ago I stumbled upon a DVD that would bring me to tears

I am here because despite telling friends and family about the events in Uganda there was no same effect

I am here because within four weeks of my third year at Uni I knew I needed a break

I am here because I FINALLY received a response from my email I sent to IC about a potential Australian tour, and received it the following week I deferred and seeking a path to walk

I am here because I had a screening at my house with ten friends and I think all signed up for Tri that day

I am here because I have personally seen the influence roadies screening a DVD can have on young people

I am here because I started applying for the roadie position within a week of that screening at my house

I am here because over 80 people from Adelaide willingly travelled for ten hours in two buses to sleep out in the rain for THE RESCUE in Melbourne

I am here because if the roadies had not come that event may not have even occurred

I am here to represent my country, and show it has a heart

I am here because Christ loves and cares for the oppressed, fatherless and widowed (Isaiah 1:17)

But most of all I am here because I am His servant and will do whatever I can to bring this war to an end*
