So I just finished reading this book! ... read it in a grand total of 2 weeks, which for anyone who knows me will recognise this as AMAZING! Normally it takes me months to get even halfway into a book, and then i end up moving onto another one without even finishing it!
Well ... I've had a few friends strongly recommend this book, and seeing I catch public transport for over an hour and a half a day on the way to and from work ... I figured that is my ultimate chance to start reading my massive library of books on my 'to read' shelves of my book case!
LOVE this book! ... very very very confrontational, thats why I like it! ... 'Blue Like Jazz' still wins the greatest book of all time, this one is a close second though!
Here's some of the most profound quotes I found in the book:
"Over 20,000 children die from curable water-borne disease"
"We cannot say we love God & pass by our hungry neighbour" p. 173
"The greatest cause of athiesm is Christians who acknowlege Jesus with their lips, then walk out the door and deny Him with their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable" - Brennan Manning
"If you're not angry, then you're not paying attention"
"In the USA, less than 6 percent of the worlds population, consumes nearly half of the worlds resources, and that the average American consumes as much as 520 Ethiopians do, while obesity is declared a 'national health crisis' " p. 344
Pretty full on AY! .... the truth hurts sometimes! .... read the book .... be challenged ...... do something about it!
Peace

Sounds cool...
I once heard a preaching message that went a little like this.
"There are over 10,000.00 people dying in Africa everyday, and the sad thing is most of you don't give a shit" *long pause*
What's even sadder is that most of you are more concerned that I just swore in my preaching in a church than about the 10,000.00 plus people that are dying daily.
Certainly gave me something to think about.
I loved this book, so good!
