Top 10 Albums of 2008

*Sooooo .... this shoulda been posted aaages ago, I was actually planning to post this as a video blog, but I ranted and raved WAY over the 10minute youtube limit. So I thought "stuff it, I'm lazy" ... so I'll just resort to listing my top 10 albums ... and a bit!

Whoever said good music is dead nowdays have no idea what they're talking about, as I reflect on the music released this past year there have been albums released by some of my favourite artists and have also discovered some new amazing artists also! ... so without further adue here are my top 10 favourite releases of 2008 .. and a few other albums I wanted to talk about

1. Moving Mountains - Pnemuna

3. Gyroscope - Breed Obsession

4. Sigur Rós- Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust

5. City and Colour - Bring Me Your Love

6. Firekites - The Bowery

9. Sundays Away - Sundays Away

10. Miaou - All Around Us


Honourable mentions go to:

The "take that manufactured pop crap" award (won 2 Aria awards and a gazillion others also!):

The "most relaxing music ever" award goes to:
The Tumbled Sea - Songs By The Tumbled Sea

The "album I really really wanted to hate because its in the charts, but couldn't deny that its a sweet album" award:
Kings of Leon - Only By the Night

The "album I a still yet to buy, but from what i heard i really like it" award
Coldplay - Viva Lavida

The "album i was looking forward to but was slightly dissapointed in the soppy lyrics" award
Michael Franti and Spearhead - All rebel Rockers

As I said at the start of this post I went waaay over the 10min video limit for youtube, I fully recommend you check out any of these albums, coz if you know me and music I dig, I talk about it non-stop!

the only 2 bands I know are kings of leon and cold play out of your whole list.. I am so not music savvy!

the majority of bands I listen to no-one has heard of!
but SURELY you've heard Bloc Party! .. they're English and they're really really big! oh and Sigur Ros, I'm taking a stab but I reckon you may like their music! ;)
