*Just a random thought*
Silence is interesting hey
I can’t stand it myself .. I always have to be listening to a CD or have the TV on, anything to eliminate silence.
But the other day I was sitting on the outside seats at Glenelg Maccas with my best mate, slurping our coke freezies. And I swear we sat there for hours and didn’t say a word to each other, this has happened before too .. Like driving home from uni and gigs and stuff .. we just sit there and dont say a word. The funny thing is that we are both totally comfortable being silent, not awkward at all, something I have never encountered with other people or even by myself.
This got me thinking about my relationship with God, I can’t stand silence when i pray or just sit there waiting for answers, i suppose its that im not comfortable or know Him well enough to sit in silence. My best mate I’ve known for over 10 years and pretty much did everything together, Perhaps i need to get used to God and understand his prescence and practice just sitting in silence and waiting.
PS 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God
JOB 33:31 "Pay attention, Job, and listen to me;
be silent, and I will speak.
JOB 33:33 But if not, then listen to me;
be silent, and I will teach you wisdom."
there was another one about God meeting you in the silence .. but i’ve forgotten where it comes from!
So yeah theres some thoughts .. no real indepth exploration or resolution .. just some insight into some stuff going through my head .. I’m actually working on a song at the moment regarding these thoughts ..hopefully i’ll put it online in the next week or so
have a sweet easter! - Chad
